Dana Point Real Estate

Boaters up and down the west coast know Dana Point as one of the best anchorages in Southern California – the sheltered waterfront here provides slips and moorage for more than 2,500 boats. But Dana Point is also a beautiful small city, home to several fine oceanfront neighborhoods and a busy downtown with a wide selection of shops and restaurants. With much of its real estate on a rocky headland a few miles east of the I-5, Dana Point is comfortably removed from the big city crowds that define other parts of Southern California and Orange County.

The Dana Point Home Market

Steady growth in recent years has also produced hundreds of beautiful new homes and condos in the Dana Point real estate area. The city's finest new listings offer fabulous ocean views and homes packed with a wide variety of extras like vaulted ceilings, ceiling to floor windows, and spacious balconies with hot tubs overlooking the sparkling Pacific. Dana Point is also known for its beautiful cliffside property, where residents can watch the waves crashing hundreds of feet below. Lawyer and seaman Richard Henry Dana Jr., for whom the town is named, described this scene as "the only romantic spot in California," an exaggeration with which most locals can identify.

Doheny State Park is another highlight of the Dana Point real estate area, offering 41.4 acres of hilly waterfront and views west. This park was given to the State of California by Ned Doheny, one of the founding developers of Dana Point and nearby Capistrano Beach.
